FAA Launches AI Air Traffic Management Trial

The Federal Aviation Administration and the US Department of Transportation have begun testing an AI-powered tool called Strategic Management of Airspace Routes and Trajectories. The system is currently being trialed at Reagan National, Dulles International, and BWI Thurgood Marshall airports. It integrates 200 data streams to predict flight demand and weather constraints.
The software is part of an $875 million overhaul developed by Air Space Intelligence. The FAA plans to gradually expand the system to other airports.
