Google Launches AI Satellite Test

Google is launching its Project Suncatcher prototype satellite, named MVP, on October 1. The refrigerator-sized satellite will carry four Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) into low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The mission aims to test hardware performance, radiation tolerance, and cooling systems in space, with the satellite expected to process simple AI queries for one year.

The satellite generates one kilowatt of power via solar panels and will remain in orbit for six years.
