TikTok Settles Alabama Lawsuit for $100 Million

TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance, have agreed to pay the state of Alabama at least $100 million to settle a lawsuit regarding social media addiction. The agreement was reached on September 25, 2026, just days before the case was scheduled to go to trial.

The settlement requires TikTok to implement a two-hour daily time limit for teen users, restrict nighttime access, and ban cosmetic filters. The company will pay $100 million.
