Supreme Court Allows Texas Age Verification Law

The Supreme Court has declined to block Texas from enforcing its age verification law for mobile apps. The mandate requires app stores to verify the ages of minors and obtain parental consent before users can download apps or make in-app purchases.

Legal challenges from the Computer and Communications Industry Association and student advocacy groups remain ongoing. An expedited hearing regarding the law is scheduled for early August in the Fifth Circuit.
