Baidu and Lyft Begin Robotaxi Testing in London

Baidu has commenced road testing for its Apollo Go RT6 autonomous vehicles in the London borough of Brent. The trials are conducted in partnership with Freenow, a ride-hailing platform acquired by Lyft in 2025 for approximately $197 million. Human safety operators are currently present in the vehicles during these initial tests.

The companies are targeting a public service launch in 2027, pending regulatory approvals.
