Heart Aerospace X1 Completes Maiden Flight
Heart Aerospace successfully flew its X1 demonstrator aircraft for the first time on August 12, 2026, at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York. The all-electric prototype, which features a 106-foot wingspan and weighs over 25,000 pounds, completed a 27-minute flight reaching an altitude of 1,100 feet.
The test mission consumed approximately $5 worth of electricity. The X1 serves as a full-scale demonstrator for the company’s upcoming 30-seat hybrid-electric ES-30 regional airliner, which is currently targeted for service entry in 2031.
