Australia Bans AI-Generated Music From Charts

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has announced that tracks wholly generated by artificial intelligence are ineligible for its official music charts. Songs using generative AI in a supporting role remain permitted, provided they are substantially human-made and do not raise concerns regarding stream or chart manipulation.

These new eligibility rules take effect on Friday, August 28, 2026.
