Instagram Introduces AI-Generated Profile Label

Instagram is replacing its existing “AI creator” label with a new “AI-generated profile” tag. This requirement specifically targets accounts featuring synthetic personas designed to resemble real humans. Profiles that fail to apply this label may face reduced reach in recommendation surfaces, including Reels and Explore.

Creators can manage these labels through the Account Status dashboard, which also provides an appeal process for those who believe they were penalized in error.
