153 Million Driver’s Licenses Leaked to Dark Web
A dark web platform named Nexus recently listed over 153 million digital scans of driver’s licenses from the United States and Canada for sale. The database also included 10 million ID cards, 3 million travel documents, and 579,000 medical cards. Investigations suggest the data originated from a breach at the Louisiana-based identity verification firm IDScan.net.
The FBI’s New Orleans field office has launched an official inquiry into the incident. The leaked records include documents belonging to high-ranking government officials.
