Google Launches WeatherNext 3 AI Model

Google has introduced WeatherNext 3, an AI model that generates global weather forecasts using live geostationary satellite data. The system provides hourly updates and achieves a spatial resolution of up to 5 kilometers for temperature and moisture variables, replacing the 25-kilometer grid used in the previous version.

The model is now integrated into Google Search, Gemini, Maps, and Google Cloud. It produces 50 percent more accurate precipitation forecasts compared to earlier iterations.
