Volkswagen Approves Future Plan 2030

Volkswagen’s supervisory board has unanimously approved a restructuring plan to cut 50,000 additional jobs, bringing the total planned reductions to 100,000. The initiative, dubbed Future Plan 2030, aims to address overcapacity, tariff pressures, and competition from Chinese rivals.
The company will halve its model portfolio by 2035 and is assessing the future of four German plants in Emden, Zwickau, Hanover, and Neckarsulm, which currently lack secured production allocations from 2031 to 2034.
