OpenAI announced it has achieved its objective of developing an automated research intern capable of executing well-defined research tasks under human direction. The company reports that its research organization now utilizes 3.1 agent-workdays of effort for every workday of human labor.

The firm is currently working toward the development of a fully autonomous AI researcher, with a target completion date of March 2028.
