Google Home Adds MCP Support for AI Agents

Google has introduced Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration for Google Home, allowing third-party AI agents to monitor and control smart home devices. Compatible agents, including Claude, Hermes, and Open Claw, can now access device states, event history, and camera feeds to execute commands or build custom dashboards.

The feature is currently rolling out in early access to users in the United States with a Google Home Premium Advanced subscription, which costs $20 per month or $200 annually.
