Anthropic Opens Physical Biology Lab

Anthropic has established a wet lab in the San Francisco Bay Area to conduct physical biological experiments. The facility allows the company to move beyond computer-based simulations and handle real biological materials directly.

Eric Kauderer-Abrams, Anthropic’s head of life sciences, confirmed the lab’s existence. The company is currently exploring the use of AI to automate laboratory tasks, though it maintains that human oversight remains essential for safety.
