SpaceX has agreed to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum portfolio to support Starlink Mobile. The deal provides up to 14 megahertz of paired airwaves for two-way data transmission between satellites and mobile devices. The acquisition is valued at an estimated $8 billion.
The transaction remains subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission. SpaceX plans to integrate this spectrum with a newly approved fleet of 15,000 satellites.
