Supreme Court to Hear Apple-Epic Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear Apple’s appeal regarding a contempt ruling in its long-running legal battle with Epic Games. The case centers on whether Apple’s 27% commission on third-party payment links constitutes “malicious compliance” with a 2021 court order requiring the company to allow alternative billing options for developers.

Justices are expected to consider the appeal in the term starting this October, with a final ruling anticipated by June 2027.
