Amazon is doubling down on custom silicon.
Panos Panay, head of devices and services, confirmed Amazon is expanding its end-to-end chip design, currently seen in AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips. These processors aim to run AI locally on devices like the Echo Show to improve security and response times.
Amazon is also developing a roadmap for mobile, on-the-go devices powered by its Alexa Plus assistant. The company is shifting focus away from traditional apps and screens toward voice-first hardware.
