Google adds selfie video login

Google is rolling out a new selfie video authentication method for account access. Users can set this up by recording guided head movements to capture multiple angles, providing a backup if they lose access to their primary devices. The encrypted video is stored to verify identity during future sign-ins.

To combat deepfakes, the system requires live movements during verification. This feature is currently unavailable for Workspace, child, and Advanced Protection Program accounts.
