Telegram Briefly Removed From App Store

Apple removed the Telegram messaging app from the iOS App Store on Monday following reports of illegal content. Apple stated the removal occurred after finding material violating guidelines against child sexual abuse. The app was restored within hours after Telegram banned the user responsible for the content.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov stated the removal happened without warning. Apple confirmed the app remained available on the Mac App Store throughout the incident.
