OpenAI Expands Daybreak Program and Launches GPT-5.6-Cyber

OpenAI has introduced a two-tier structure for its Daybreak cybersecurity program, featuring the new GPT-5.6-Cyber model. This model is built on GPT-5.6 Sol and is specifically trained to handle advanced tasks such as zero-day vulnerability research and exploit chain development. It is designed to reduce refusals for higher-risk, dual-use cybersecurity requests.

On OpenAI’s internal Advanced Cybersecurity Completion Rate benchmark, GPT-5.6-Cyber achieved a 95% completion rate, compared to 57.3% for its predecessor.
