OpenAI to Terminate Cursor Model Access

OpenAI announced it will end its contract to provide AI models to the coding assistant Cursor. The decision follows the acquisition of Cursor developer Anysphere by SpaceX, which closed earlier this month. OpenAI stated it cannot be confident that SpaceX will adhere to its terms of service, citing past contract disputes involving Elon Musk’s companies.

The company will stop supplying its models to Cursor on November 12, 2026.
