Google Restricts Gemini Model Access

Starting October 9, 2026, Google will limit free users of the Gemini app to the Flash-Lite model. Access to the more capable Flash and Pro models will be removed for those without a paid subscription.

The Google AI Plus subscription tier will also lose access to the Pro model on this date. AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will retain access to their respective models, with AI Pro users gaining the Deep Think feature.
