PlayStation to End Physical Disc Production

Sony has officially announced it will stop producing physical game discs for all new PlayStation titles starting January 2028. The company cited shifting consumer preferences toward digital media as the primary driver for this transition.

While existing physical games remain unaffected, future releases will be available exclusively via the PlayStation Store or as digital download codes. This move effectively ends the traditional second-hand market for new PlayStation games.
