The company is reportedly talking to bankers and semiconductor startups to bolster its server infrastructure. Apple’s current M2 Ultra-based servers are struggling with heavy AI workloads, forcing the company to rely on Nvidia GPUs in Google Cloud for tasks like the Gemini-powered Siri.

Internal efforts to build a custom server chip, codenamed Baltra, have faced delays. With $45.6 billion in cash, Apple is now exploring buyouts to close the performance gap.
