LONGi Hits 35.5% Solar Efficiency

Chinese manufacturer LONGi has developed a crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cell reaching 35.5% power conversion efficiency. Verified by the European Solar Test Installation, this result significantly outperforms standard commercial silicon panels, which typically hover around 25% efficiency.

The company has steadily increased its tandem cell performance from 31.8% in 2023 to this new record. These cells aim to push past the physical limitations of traditional single-junction silicon designs.
