EPA Exempts Data Center Power Plants from Acid Rain Rules

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued guidance clarifying that the Clean Air Act’s Acid Rain Program does not apply to power generation facilities serving data centers that are not connected to the public electricity grid. This policy change aims to accelerate the development of islanded power facilities for data center infrastructure.
