EU to Designate ChatGPT and Roblox as VLOPs

The European Commission is preparing to label ChatGPT and Roblox as “very large online platforms” (VLOPs) under the Digital Services Act. This designation follows both services surpassing the threshold of 45 million monthly active users within the European Union.

Once officially designated, both companies must comply with stricter transparency, risk assessment, and content moderation requirements. Non-compliance can result in fines of up to 6% of global annual revenue.
