LG Denies Smart TV Surveillance Allegations

LG has formally denied claims that its smart TVs continuously record ambient conversations or store audio data while in standby mode. The company stated that voice-to-text processing only initiates when a user activates a wake-word or presses the voice button on the remote control.

This response follows a 135-minute investigative report by Gamers Nexus, which alleged that LG televisions harvest local network data and record audio. LG confirmed that its devices perform network scanning to support connectivity features.
