Google Fined $463 Million Over EU Privacy Violations

Ireland’s Data Protection Commission has fined Google €403 million, approximately $463 million, for mishandling user location data. The investigation, which began in 2020, found that the company failed to lawfully or fairly process data within its Web & App Activity, Location History, and Location Accuracy features between May 2018 and February 2020.

Google must bring its data processing into compliance with GDPR requirements within six months.
