OpenAI Launches ChatGPT for Academic Researchers

OpenAI is introducing a program to provide free access to its AI models for 100,000 scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. Participants from select academic institutions will receive support and access to the GPT-5.6 Sol Pro model.

The initiative begins with 10,000 participants this summer and will scale to 100,000 by 2027, backed by a $250 million commitment.
