l-intro-1785501715

The European Union’s Right to Repair directive became enforceable across all 27 member states on July 31, 2026. The regulation mandates that manufacturers offer repair services for covered products, including smartphones, tablets, and major household appliances, at reasonable prices and within reasonable timeframes.

Consumers who choose to repair a product during its legal warranty period will receive an automatic 12-month extension on the device’s warranty. The directive is effective as of July 31, 2026.
