Google to Support ChromeOS Until 2034

Google will continue providing software updates and security patches for ChromeOS until mid-2034. The company is transitioning its hardware focus to Googlebook OS, an Android-based operating system designed for its new line of Googlebook devices.

Newer commercial Chromebook models will be eligible to transition to Googlebook OS, with migration details expected soon. Management features for the new operating system are scheduled to roll out in the second half of 2027.
