Google Adds Gemini-Powered Scam Detection to Android

Google is introducing an optional Enhanced protection mode in the Messages app that utilizes cloud-based Gemini models to identify deceptive conversational patterns from unknown senders. The system processes messages within a Private AI Compute environment, ensuring data remains encrypted and inaccessible to Google.

Additionally, on-device Gemini Nano will analyze web links in real-time to flag potential phishing threats. This feature rollout begins in the coming weeks.
