Oracle Cuts 21,000 Jobs Amid AI Pivot

Oracle’s latest annual report reveals a workforce reduction of 21,000 employees over the past fiscal year, leaving the company with 141,000 staff. The firm explicitly cited the adoption and deployment of AI technologies as a driver for these cuts, noting that such restructuring may continue.

To facilitate this transition, Oracle spent $1.84 billion on severance and exit costs. The company is aggressively expanding its AI data center infrastructure to support clients like OpenAI and Meta.
