EU Enforces AI Transparency Rules

l-intro-1785762695

The European Union has implemented new transparency regulations under the AI Act, effective August 2, 2026. These rules mandate that providers and deployers of AI systems must inform users when they are interacting with artificial intelligence rather than a human.

Content publishers must label AI-generated or AI-altered media, including deepfakes, audio, and text. Systems must incorporate machine-readable marks to facilitate detection. General-purpose AI model providers are required to document information, publish training data summaries, and maintain copyright policies.

Non-compliance may result in fines reaching €15 million or three percent of global annual revenue.
