The Roseville, California, police department conducted an analysis of nearly 1,500 Flock Safety surveillance reports between 2023 and 2024. The study identified a 71% failure rate, where the AI cameras incorrectly identified license plate numbers. This resulted in innocent vehicles being flagged as stolen due to misread characters.
Flock Safety states that independent evaluations show a 96% vehicle count accuracy and 92% categorization accuracy. The company noted the Roseville camera configuration was not typical.
