Meta Releases Muse Spark Open AI Model

Meta has launched Muse Spark Open, an 816-billion-parameter open-weight AI model designed for coding and agentic tasks. The model features a 1-million-token context window and is optimized for Apple Silicon using the MLX framework.

Running the model locally requires 1TB of unified memory, achieved by clustering multiple M5 Ultra-equipped Mac Studio machines. The weights are available for download on Hugging Face as of October 15, 2026.
